KovaOne is formulated for dogs aged 7 and above, or younger large breed dogs showing early signs of joint stiffness. There is no upper age limit — we have customers whose dogs are 15 and 16 years old and still benefiting from the formula. If your dog is under 7 and showing mobility issues, please consult your vet before starting — joint problems in younger dogs may have a different underlying cause that warrants examination.

KovaOne chews are pork liver flavored and designed to be given as a treat — no hiding in food required. Most dogs take them directly from the hand. Give the appropriate number of chews once daily based on your dog's weight: one chew for dogs 65–100 lbs, one and a half chews for 100–120 lbs, and two chews for dogs over 120 lbs. For the first two weeks we recommend doubling the dose as a loading phase to build active ingredient levels faster. After that, maintain the standard daily dose.

Yes — KovaOne is commonly used alongside NSAIDs and many owners use it specifically to reduce their dog's reliance on them over time. The ingredients in KovaOne do not interfere with NSAID mechanisms. However, because Omega-3 fatty acids have mild blood-thinning properties, dogs on anticoagulant medications specifically should have their vet review the combination. Always inform your vet when adding any supplement to a dog's regimen, especially one already on prescription medication.

KovaOne has no known interactions with the most commonly prescribed veterinary medications. The one exception to be aware of: Omega-3 fatty acids at high doses can mildly inhibit platelet aggregation. For dogs on anticoagulant drugs such as warfarin or heparin, consult your vet before starting. For all other medications — including NSAIDs, corticosteroids, antibiotics and thyroid medications — no interaction has been identified. We always recommend transparency with your vet.
