KovaOne is made for dogs aged 7 and over, and for younger large breed dogs showing early stiffness. There is no upper age limit. If your dog is under 7 and struggling to move, see your vet first, since joint problems in younger dogs can have other causes.

KovaOne chews are liver flavored and made to be given as a treat. Most dogs take them straight from your hand. Give the right number of chews once a day based on your dog's weight: one chew under 65 lbs, one and a half chews from 65 to 120 lbs, and two chews over 120 lbs. Our Dosage Guide has the full chart.

It is rare. Liver is one of the flavors dogs accept most easily, picky eaters included. If your dog hesitates, break the chew into small pieces and mix them into food for the first few days. Most dogs start asking for it within a week. If your dog still refuses after two weeks, contact us and we will sort it out or refund you.

KovaOne contains no artificial colors or flavors, and the Yucca in the formula supports healthy digestion. Most dogs with sensitive stomachs do well on it. If your dog has a history of digestive problems, start with half the normal dose for the first week, give it with meals, then move to the full dose. If your dog has severe food sensitivities, check the full ingredient list with your vet first.

Many owners give KovaOne alongside NSAIDs prescribed by their vet. KovaOne does not replace veterinary care, and you should never change or stop a prescribed medication without your vet's advice. Tell your vet you are adding KovaOne so they can follow your dog's progress.

One to know about: Omega 3 can have a mild blood-thinning effect. If your dog takes anticoagulants such as warfarin or heparin, or has a bleeding disorder, talk to your vet before starting. For any other medication, show your vet the full ingredient list. It takes them a minute and gives you peace of mind.
